Missions Month 2025

At ACAC, loving people where they are is part of our DNA—whether that means crossing the street or crossing the globe.

As part of the Christian & Missionary Alliance, ACAC has a rich 130-year legacy of missions that began with A.B. Simpson and E.D. Whiteside. We take Jesus’ call to “go and make disciples of all nations” seriously, and Missions Month is our chance to live that out together.

Throughout the month, you’ll find opportunities to learn, serve, and grow as you explore what the Great Commission really means—for you, your family, and our world.

The Refugee Immersion Experience

Sunday, Nov. 16 – 10 am, 11:30 am, and 12:30 pm | Union Place Room 188
Monday, Nov. 17 – After Service | Union Place Room 188
Sunday, Nov. 23 – 10 am and 11:30 am | Union Place Room 188

What is it like to flee your home and country, often with almost nothing and enter a new country with a language you don’t speak and a culture you don’t understand?

This experience, which is based on a breakout session presented at Converge Conference by Anya Holcomb of Salem Alliance Church, reviews the crisis facing refugees worldwide and then walks attendees through the refugee experience of entering and navigating this country after being displaced from their home.

Celebrating the Opening of the Global Welcome Center!

People from around the world are making Pittsburgh their home—many from places where the gospel has never been heard. What an incredible opportunity to share the love of Jesus right here in our city.

This month, we’re celebrating the grand opening of ACAC’s Global Welcome Center—a space to build relationships and meet practical needs through programs and classes. Visit the missions tables in the sanctuary lobby after weekend worship services for details.

Christmas Missionary Blessing

Help ACAC share the true message of Christmas with those serving around the globe.

Each year as a congregation, we bless our ACAC missionary families with a special financial gift to serve as a tangible reminder that they are both loved and valued by their church family. This year, that blessing will also support an exciting ministry project from Josh and Jackie Blanchard, who are creating Top & Toe — a gospel-centered children’s TV program reaching families across Cambodia.

Join us in encouraging our missionaries and advancing the gospel worldwide.

ACAC’s 2026 Short-Term Mission Trips

Have you ever felt called to go on a mission trip but hesitated because of fear, time, or cost? Maybe it’s time to say yes.

Join us for a Short-Term Missions Informational Meeting on Sunday, Nov. 16 at 12:30 p.m. in the Chapel to learn what it’s really like—from fundraising and preparation to returning home transformed.

Missions 101
Missions 101

Designed for first-time participants! These trips allow us to partner in meaningful ways with international ministries, but take seven days or less, cost $2,000 or less, and offer overnight accommodations that are reasonably stress-free.

Dominican Republic (May 16–23)
Nicaragua (June 14–21)
El Salvador (Aug 15-22)

Missions 201
Missions 201

These trips are more difficult assignments that could be 10 days or more and cost more than $2,000; may present greater living challenges on-site.

Burkina Faso (October 2026)

Missions 301
Missions 301

These trips take teams into “creative access” environments to experience the life/work of so many of our International Workers. They often take 10 days or longer, cost more than $2,000, and can involve both living challenges and security challenges. We recommend these trips for people who believe God is calling them to full-time service in Missions.
