We Go

We believe every person is created in the image of God, and just as Jesus meets us with love where we are, we want to love people right where they are. That means going beyond the walls of our church—into our community, our region, and to the ends of the Earth—to share His life-changing love.

In Our Neighborhood:
Gospel Sunday

On July 14, Allegheny Commons Park became the site of a city-wide celebration of faith, family, and music as ACAC hosted Gospel Sunday, the inspiring finale of the Northside Music Festival.

“We love to take church to the park, to be out in our community, to share the joy of worship music while showing our neighbors the love of Christ,” shared Pastor Alan.

It was a full day for Team ACAC with programming happening from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and again from 6-8 p.m. The event also marked one of the first major community uses of our new Hub facilities, including playing host to the festival’s Acoustic Coffeehouse held at The Well on Saturday.

All-in-all, approximately 250 volunteers served throughout the day, which drew nearly 2,000 people and resulted in 18 decisions for Christ!

To the Nations: Missions Month 2024
To the Nations:
Missions Month 2024

As part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance, ACAC has a rich history of supporting those ready to “GO” to the places across the globe where the Spirit leads them. In fact, in its 130 years ACAC has sent 131 full-time international workers to mission fields around the world!

In addition to those we send, we also have an increasing number of ACAC members serving on “sending teams” which support our International Workers. For example, we have 15 members who regularly communicate with our workers and relay their prayer needs back to our congregation.

Beginning immediately after the 130th anniversary, we celebrated Missions Month 2024 under the theme To the Ends of the Earth. The month featured four mission-focused sermons, visits from four pairs of international workers (including two from “creative-access” countries), and special classes on the “how” and “why” of missions. It concluded with an anonymous $130,000 gift—given in celebration of ACAC’s 131 International Workers over the decades—to ensure the continuation of our Missions legacy.
