What is The James Adventure?
The Grade School Memory Verse Program here at Allegheny Center Alliance Church has evolved over the years to become a great adventure! Children can participate and excel as they seek to “hide God’s word in their hearts." A few years ago, God was very clear that we needed to change the culture of memory work for our grade school aged children. And so, we began with the “Ephesians Adventure,” a 2-year program where we learned key principals including our identity in Christ, how we are each uniquely gifted, and how to live in unity within the body of Christ.
God has laid it on my heart that we are ready to take the next step by taking the truths we learned and put them into action. With that vision, I knew James was the next book were to study. The book of James addresses some key points in living out authentic faith including the following: true faith shows itself in practical, godly living, and endurance through trials; the dangers of riches and encouragement to the poor; the law and love; faith and works; the coming of the Lord; and humility. It shows us how to take practical action in our lives of faith. James does not mess around; his letter is filled with direct commands to pursue a life of holiness. The verses we are learning will help our families pursue a deeper walk with God. The verses will change monthly, but the goal here is not to merely memorize, but rather to plant to Word of God deeply into every heart.
During this time of pandemic, we are equipping our families with helpful resources to spiritually lead their families in developing children who reflect the love of Jesus. We have daily devotions written specifically for James that you can do with your children, grandchildren, families, or even your “pod” of people. I pray they are a rich resource for you as you grow spiritually and study His word.
I am excited for what God has for our families and community as we learn to be the hands and feet of Jesus in such a time as this. We are here for you, and I am so excited to be on this Adventure with each of you!

You will have everything you need.”
