Counseling Ministries
Welcome to Counseling Ministries!
All of us have times of brokenness and struggle in our lives. During these difficult times, it may be hard to admit that we need help. But it is in our brokenness, that we can encounter the loving grace and healing power of Jesus Christ! Christ himself showed us the example of loving others by ministering to people's hearts and to their physical needs. He loved and ministered to those who were hurting, and He provided food and physical healing when needed.
We are called, in Counseling Ministries, to serve those who are in the midst of struggles in life, whether through professional counseling, lay counseling, or by walking alongside someone in need of basic living resources, such as food, shelter, and employment. We desire to reach into people's lives, to reach into the community of ACAC, and the community of Pittsburgh, to show the love of Christ during stressful times. Those stressful times might include:
-
family or individual crises, like broken families, grief, relationship struggles
-
addictions
-
depression/anxiety
-
physical/sexual/emotional abuse
-
difficult living situation
-
lack of food or employment
You might be struggling with questions about God's direction in these crises. Life issues can leave us feeling uncertain and alone.
Our goal in Counseling Ministries, is to support and comfort others, as God has comforted us in our need. Our God is 'the Father of all compassion, and the God of all comfort...' (2 Cor. 1:3) We pray that as you reach out to receive comfort in your distress, you will grow in knowledge and understanding, and will be blessed by God's love and the direction of the Holy Spirit.
