Though all may share the good news with neighbors and friends, as part of the Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA), we are committed to helping each follower of Jesus find his or her role in fulfilling our Lord’s Great Commission to “go make disciples of all nations.” (Matt 28:10) Some will go to share the good news of Jesus around the world and some will be engaged in sending and praying for those who go.

As the arms of Jesus we share education, jobs, housing, healthcare, social services and security with needy people and communities around us. However the primary blessing we’re to share - both in person and as a community - is our faith. The Gospel - more than the supporting commodities of money, time, and energy – is the foundation for God’s work. This involves the entire church sharing at an intentional, intercultural level. Jesus calls His church to pray, plan, initiate, and support cross-cultural mission until every ethnic group has heard His truth. And while we aren’t all called to the front lines of this endeavor as sent-out evangelists, we’re all called to support the endeavor by a lifestyle of prayer, encouragement, and giving.

As part of a worldwide Alliance International Workers movement, the Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA), Allegheny Center Alliance Church is committed to helping each follower of Jesus find his or her role in fulfilling our Lord’s Great Commission to “go make disciples of all nations.” (Matt 28:10)

Some will indeed be called to “go” to other peoples, cultures and lands to share the good news of God’s love that can be found and experienced only in Jesus Christ.  Presently, we have 9 individuals/couples/families from our church family serving overseas as cross-cultural international workers with the C&MA, i.e. Alliance International Workers.  Another 18 serve with other evangelistic and mission organizations, both in the United States and abroad, and, collectively, we refer to this group as Gospel Messengers.

Many others here at home will serve as Senders of our Alliance International Workers and Gospel Messengers. Senders are people who give, pray and provide personal and practical support to those who are on the field, and welcome home those who return on furlough, family emergency or for any other reason. Still others at ACAC engage the Great Commission mandate through their participation or support of our short-term missions initiatives and/or Missions Partnerships. ACAC currently maintains ongoing relationships with Christian works in 3 overseas fields -Guatemala, Kenya and Syria. Others in our congregation provide continuing support of efforts in other nations.

What is your role… your place… in fulfilling Christ’s Great Commission?  If you haven’t found it yet, you are missing out on an exciting aspect of the Christian life, one that connects you in a very real and meaningful way to God’s great plan for the ages to reconcile all things in Christ.  If you would like to learn more about Missions at ACAC, please contact one of the members of our missions team profiled elsewhere on these pages.
