We're encouraging all who call ACAC their church home to attend an upcoming campaign dinner to learn about the campaign, assess the needs and begin to discover the part that each person can play in making the 3Cs of Campus Redesign, Communications and Church Planting an awesome reality in the next 3 years! Go here to register for a dinner today!
We are pleased to announce an exciting transition in the life and ministry of Pastor Marv Nelson, who has led our Aletheia campus ministry for the past six years. Marv has long sensed God’s calling to lead a church at some point, and throughout his journey has received the mentoring, prayers and support of our own pastoral leadership. He recently interviewed at a couple of Alliance churches, including our sister church in Indiana, PA where he has now accepted a position to become their lead pastor.
It goes without saying we are excited for Marv and his wife Hilary as they prepare to move to Indiana and assume the leadership role in this church located very close to the campus of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Marv’s transition will take place at the end of the current school year, so he will continue to lead Aletheia until students leave for their summer break. Our leadership is considering implications for Aletheia as we look to the fall and will communicate next steps once determined.
We thank Marv and Hilary for all they’ve done at ACAC and their successful contributions to Aletheia and our Young Adults ministry. We will continue to hold you and your family up in prayer for a successful transition and we look forward to seeing your ministry grow in the years to come.
The results of last weekend’s congregational vote on the Next Gen initiatives is in. A unprecedented total of 1225 ballots were received, including 728 cast by ACAC members. And each of the three recommendations put forward for a vote passed with an affirmation of support ranging from 90-96%. (Note- just over half of the remaining votes were abstentions, with the rest opposed.)
After focusing the month of January on prayer, and February on considering the specifics of the Expanded Influence- Next Gen plans, our congregation’s voice has been heard. Thank you for taking the time to pray, listen and vote. And thank you for affirming your own sense of the Lord’s direction for our church family as together we engage the work of equipping the next generation at ACAC for Expanded Influence.
