Young Professional Mentoring Program (YPMP)
This 8-week summer program begins in mid-June and helps young students from the ages of 13-15 years of age grow personally and professionally. 2018 will mark our 5th year in the program, and we've heard many wonderful testimonies of past graduates who've gone onto higher education and are on their way to having successful careers and lives!
Each student will:
- be paired with a caring and dedicated mentor who will offer Godly counsel and one-to-one support
- spend time learning the Word of God and how to make life application
- experience job training in a thriving and growing business or company by participating as an intern
- participate in life skill workshops to build confidence, self-assurance and independence
- be exposed to various career choices by visiting colleges, trade schools, businesses and civil service jobs on a weekly basis
It is our goal to see lives transformed in a holistic way because of the dedication of the student and mentors who have committed themselves to see change take place through the Holy Spirit.
We believe every young person deserves a chance to be part of our brighter tomorrow because they are the HOPE and LOVE that’s needed in our community.
All students are required to apply for available positions posted on the Care Connections website and should expect to be interviewed.
All interested students will be selected based on their letter of recommendation and level of interest. Parents are encouraged to support their child but not to interfere with the decision making process. Spaces are limited.
On March 18, 2017 applications will be available online here, in the Care Connections office or at our information desks.
Space is limited. For more information, please contact Loleda Moman, Director of Care Connections.
