Weddings at Allegheny Center Alliance Church
Congratulations on your engagement and on your desire to seek God’s blessing on your marriage.
"Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."
As followers of Jesus, our desire is that every marriage covenant established at ACAC would be appropriate before God and would enjoy His blessing. We also desire that your covenant ceremony experience would be God-honoring and well-planned, without distractions or regrets. The following procedures and guidelines reflect these desires, and grow out of our years of experience in uniting couples. If you have questions regarding any of them, please don’t hesitate to inquire of a pastor. Our prayer is that your days of preparation and your ceremony will be joyful experiences that contribute to your growth in love - for God and one another.
We have set up a Wedding Voicemail to answer questions that you might have about wedding requirements and premarital counseling. Please call us at (412) 321-4333 and ask to be transferred to extension 926. You may also download the information below.
The first step towards a wedding ceremony at ACAC is to arrange an initial interview with a pastor. This is intended for your protection and blessing. Marriage covenants must adhere to the teachings of Scripture if they are to enjoy God’s blessing. Towards that end, the interviewing pastor will inquire regarding matters such as your mutual faith in Christ, any previous marital experiences, your family dynamics, and your current living circumstances. If everything is in order before God’s Word, you will be formally approved for marriage at ACAC. Please note, this interview should occur before you make any formal announcement of your wedding, reserve any facilities, or contract any service providers. Should the guidelines of Scripture necessitate any delay or reconsideration, we want to spare you any possible financial loss or social embarrassment. To arrange the initial interview, please fill out the form below. Sheila Edmunds will contact you shortly after to schedule the interview.
