Revamp the Camp Giving Opportunity

We have a special need to raise funds for the Russia Youth Camp project. We need to raise $80,000 for materials and to pay for a new Dormitory Roof.

As this is a District Project we encourage all churches to participate. You may send donations to the District Office Marked for the Russia Camp project or through the district website.

If the Lord leads you, please make checks payable to ACAC and designate your gift to Russia Camp Project.

What is Revamp the Camp?

It is a project initiated by the WPA District to reclaim and rehabilitate a former Soviet Youth Camp into a Christian camp in Central Russia.

Overview

East of Russia is a group of Russian pastors called AMCEC. God is using AMCEC to make a great impact for His Kingdom. They have asked for help in moving the Gospel forward in their region of the country.

REVAMP THE CAMP Ulyanovsk.

Support of this project will include sending work teams, youth ministry teams and funds towards the goal of rebuilding the former communist education camp now owned by the Alliance partner AMCEC. AMCEC's camping ministry is a key outreach ministry for children and youth in Russia. There is also a drug rehabilitation center at the camp that has had great success in setting people free from bondage and leading them to salvation.

This project will provide a year round ministry facility for youth ministry, family seminars, meetings and many other events. We will be sending both ministry teams and work teams to the camp for the puepose of supporting AMCEC in sharing the gospel in this region of the world.

The first and most immediate need for the camp is to replace the roof on the 250 person dormitory building. Much work is needed to bring the dormitory back to a usefull condition but the first and highest priority need is to dry the building by replacing the roof before any other work is completed.

We hope to raise $30,000 to pay a contractor to replace the existing roof by May of 2012.

In May and June of 2012 we will be taking the first work trips to Russia. They will extend from May 18th through June 9th. There will be two teams of two week duration that will be staggered by one week and whose trips will overlap by one week.  The proposed schedule is as follows:
