Kid's Camp Staff

Kid's Camp Staff

Our camp is designed to provide a safe and loving environment for children to learn about Jesus and have fun over the summer. Our daily activities consist of breakfast and lunch, Bible lessons, swimming, recreation, and praise and worship.

Some of our other activities include field trips, such as the Zoo, Science Center, trips to the lake, the National Aviary, Children’s Museum, baseball games and many more.

Most of the children in our camp are inner city children, some of whom have never heard about a personal relationship with Jesus. Each class is filled with 10 kids. We have 18 classes ranging from 1st– 5th grade

Training is Monday June 16– Friday June 20. Camp begins June 23 and ends August 1. Your typical camp day would be 7:00 am– 3:30 pm.

Our theme this year is “Weird Animals”. We will be focusing on sharing our lives with the kids and displaying a relationship with Jesus. We want to see our children become Spiritually healthy and courageous in their faith. Be prepared to grow and learn as we teach and encourage the kids to learn about Jesus’ one-of-a-kind love.

Your daily duties consist of teamwork with your co-counselor, leading your class in Bible lessons, supervising during breakfast and lunch, teaching daily academic lessons, attending staff meetings, participating in worship, and leading your class in other large group activities.

We are looking for young men and women who are devoted to God, have experience with kids, and a passion to see kids come to the Lord.

As leaders with children we are role models and examples of lives lived for God. We expect our leaders to display responsibility and maturity to guide each child this summer.

Our Mission for Kid’s Camp:

There is an incredible task that lies in front of us on Pittsburgh’s Northside. This summer you will personally have the blessing to speak into the lives of 10 inner-city children. Some of these children may know the Lord. Most will not. This summer we will be teaching them to trust God. Everything is possible with God and this is something you need to know and understand before you can teach it. It is your job to use every minute you have with our kids to introduce them to Jesus Christ.

We expect you will prepare for this summer by falling deeply in love with Jesus. This is the only way you will be able to be successful this summer (John 15:5). We expect you to abide by His Word to guide you in every decision you make (Psalm 119). We expect you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received (Ephesians 4:1).

We expect that you will be here on time, every day starting the first day of training through the last day of camp (June 16- August 1).

If you commit to doing these things every day, we will have an amazing summer.

The Camp Counselor position is a paid position. Our camp is located in the Northside of Pittsburgh at Allegheny Center Alliance Church. We are located minutes from downtown Pittsburgh. We offer housing for out of town students- please ask for details.
