WORSHIP....GROW....SERVE

WORSHIP & GROW at Quest

This is our weekend community. We gather for some food, catching up with friends, some great interactive worship and small groups. Our goal is to discuss and learn to apply spiritual principles to your journey.

So many things are changing over the middle school years - this is a consistent place where you can feel free to ask questions and find answers about your faith and life. We have the opportunity to connect with and sponsor three Compassion International children.

We meet each Saturday night at 7:20pm and each Sunday morning at 8:30am and 11:15am on the 2nd floor of the Whiteside Building.

Request a song for Student Ministries Worship!  Have a song you'd love to have us sing during weekend worship?  Fill out the form to the right, and we'll try to make that happen!

GROW through Growth Groups

We believe that relationships are of vital importance in our pursuit of God.  They are the manner in which our worship and God-seeking is fleshed out.  Forming and building intimate and honest, committed community begins and ends with true friendship.  It is our greatest hope and prayer that each student finds a core, net group of fellow students with whom to share, learn, grow, forgive, worship, pray, laugh and grieve.  It is only in this context of relationship that the way of Christ can be truly understood.

GROW through Activities/Retreats/Camps

Relationships that transform can only come about as we connect students with one another, with our caring adult leaders, and with our Student Ministries staff.  It's our desire to provide the atmosphere and programming that allows and encourages these relationships to form.  We do this through activities, events, retreats and camps that gather people together.

GROW at Blast

This is our midweek club. It is a high energy, action-filled evening that has options - hanging in the gym - tossing, shooting, catching, dodging some ball, watching all the action from the bleachers or wandering around the activity center - playing a game, working your dance step on DDR and more.

This is a place where you can hang with your friends. We also think this is a great environment to see what Jesus has to say about everyday life and eternity.

We try to explore this in a relevant, safe yet challenging way. We run identical programs on Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 6:45 to 8:30 p.m.  Students may attend Tuesday or Wednesday, but not both.  We encourage you to choose one and stick with it so that you best get to know the students and leaders who attend that night.  However, if an event or illness keeps you from your usual night, you're welcome to come the opposite night that week.

No pre-registration is required, and there is no cost except for some outings.

GROW through Bible Quizzing

Bible quizzing is a fun and exciting opportunity for kids in grades 6 to 8 to study and memorize God’s word.  Quizzers study assigned chapters and verses from the Bible each week.  On Sundays, we have a lesson, play games, and conduct practice quizzes.  By the end of the year you will be amazed at how many verses your quizzer will have memorized and how well they will be able to apply what they have learned. If you would like more information, contact Tom & Deb Reay at deb.reay@yahoo.com or 412-323-8827.

GROW at Battalion

Battalion is a specific ministry of ACAC Student Ministries where young men ages 11-17 (middle and high school) are challenged to grow through a variety of activities, including but not limited to: adventure trails, bible studies, service projects, and personal hands-on leadership experiences.

This ministry is connected to the Christian Service Brigade (http://csbministries.org) whose mission is to win  young men as followers of Jesus Christ, build them in the faith, and equip them for ministry.  Since this particular ministry offering is targeted and specific, it would be great for interested folks to contact David Droppa with questions and for more information at ddroppa@verizon.net. There is a small financial investment of $15 required from each participant to cover supplies, registration fees, curriculum, and events.  Meets in Simpson Hall, Mondays 6:30pm-9:00pm.

GROW through Sports Ministry

We sponsor, coach and disciple young men and women through basketball.  We believe this is more than just playing a game or trying to win.  The goal of all our sports ministries and teams is to teach students how to be godly people through Bible study, mentoring, and the game itself.

SERVE at ACAC

We encourage students to be involved in serving others both within ACAC and in the community.  Opportunities are available in a variety of ways, times and places so students can demonstrate their love for God and others in tangible ways.  We have Ministry Teams -- small groups of students who are active in our programs and also serve others at ACAC through things such as leading worship, assisting in Childrens Ministry, operating a sound board during a service, presenting dramas or dance numbbers, preparing snacks, greeting students to programs, planning community service projects, etc.  We also have Summer Ministry Opportunities (SMO) in which teams of students travel within the U.S. and abroad to serve those in need through work and relational ministries.  Students interested in serving should contact the Student Ministries office.

Student Growth Groups

Growth happens best in small group settings. Groups are community based, not too far from home, and are designed for spiritual growth, community, and accountability. We have groups for Middle and High school students.  Groups generally meet off-campus during the week, but some meet on weekends and here at ACAC.  To register for a group, please select the following link and follow the listed instructions:  Request a Growth Group Here

  1. In the search box at the top – type either middle school or high School then click Find Groups
  2. Search around for the group you’re interested in and select it
  3. Type your personal information in the boxes and select the Send Request button

That’s all there is to it. Sherese will be in touch with you soon to confirm your request.  Group sizes are limited, so don’t delay.  In the event you request a group that is filled, you will be asked by Sherese to choose a different group. If you have any questions, please contact Corey at x216 or sherese.mcbride@acac.net
