Our Alliance International Workers

In joyful obedience to Christ's Great Commission, ACAC has sent out and supported a number of full-time International Outreach Workers with the Christian & Missionary Alliance. How can those of us back home continue to encourage these faithful men, women, couples and families...

  • consistent and informed prayer
  • sacrificial giving to the Great Commission Fund, through which all Alliance International Workers are financially supported
  • personal communication, typically via email or letter
  • perhaps visiting them on-site

Below are members of our ACAC church family serving as Alliance International Workers in C&MA ministries around the world.

Betsy Blanchard  Spain

Betsy has been developing a program to help women trying to escape the bondage of sexual exploitation and trafficking in Spain.  As of December 22, 2011 a rental contract was signed for The Cinderella's House project.  Also, a staff of four so far has been formed. This house will bring freedom from physical bondage as well as offering spiritual healing and new life through an encounter with the Prince of Peace.  It will also offer help with life skill options that will lead women to find work with dignity.  In the near future we also hope to provide short-term work options, while the wormen receive life skill training.

Betsy is also involved with a relatively new church planting project in the outskirts of Granada. She is a mother of three grown children, two of whom are married, and is a grandmother of one precious granddaughter. Betsy has been a part of the ACAC community since 1983.  For updated prayer requests and prayer letters, please see the following link.  http://www.cmalliance.org/worker/blanchard-betsy

Dave is a general surgeon and spends most of his time helping to train six African surgery residents in a five-year program at Bongolo Hospital, under the Pan-African Academy of Christian Surgeons (PAACS--see http://www.paacs.net/). Dave also serves as the PAACS Director for Africa, overseeing 33 residents training at Kenya and Bangladesh.  PAACS is expanding rapidly into other countries, and part of Dave's job is to help Christian hospitals set up new PAACS training programs and find the African recruits for their training programs. His other current role is serving as the Field Director for the C&MA work in Gabon.

Becki is a nurse, and directs the nursing school at Bongolo Hospital, a ministry that has trained and discipled 210 nurses since its inception and provided the hospital with committed, well-trained nurses.  About 40 of her graduates have gone on to receive training in midwifery, denistry, ophthalmology, laboratory technology, HIV/AIDS treatment, anesthesia, and medical administration.  Two of her students are Alliance International Workers to Hope Clinic in Guinea, West Africa.  Her other ministries include teaching Sunday School every week and training other teachers to take over at whatever church plant we are working on, and being hostess to the many visitors who come to help out at Bongolo.
